DURHAM SCHOOL SERVICES SLATED TO RUN SCHOOL BUS OPERATIONS FOR COPPELL ISD
Warrenville, Ill – Durham School Services—a leading provider in student transportation—is expanding its operations in Texas, being selected to serve the Coppell Independent School District (ISD). The Coppell ISD school board voted to accept Durham’s bid to provide transportation to the district’s 16 schools, calling for 57 buses and vehicles. Operations will begin at the start of the 2017-18 school year. “Safety is our top priority, and we’re looking forward to getting the students of Coppell to school safely, on time and ready to learn,” said Rafael Fajardo, regional manager for Durham. “Preparations are underway to ensure a successful school start-up.” Coppell ISD Superintendent Mike Waldrip cited Durham’s commitment to safety and the community as key factors in choosing Durham. “We believe the decision to move to Durham is a solution that will better meet the needs of our school community,” Dr. Waldrip said. “Given our projected student growth and the need for more comprehensive transportation services, the district has been proactive in seeking solutions to ensure the best student transportation possible with a primary focus on safety, timeliness of routes, and parent communication.” Celebrating its centennial year, Durham transports more than 1 million students across the U.S. every day. A national company rooted locally, Durham is hiring members of the community and surrounding areas. Hiring efforts are underway for drivers and monitors, with positions still available. The Coppell operations will employ more than 65 people. In addition to Coppell, Durham operates in 17 locations across North and Southwest Texas.
