DURHAM SCHOOL SERVICES PARTNERS WITH MEMPHIS POLICE DEPARTMENT
Memphis, TN – Durham School Services, a leader in student transportation, is partnering with the Memphis Police Department (MPD), providing Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) training to MPD Officers.
“Serving the community is one of Durham’s core values, and we are proud to live that value by supporting the police department here in Memphis,” said Greg Newman, regional manager for Durham. “It’s one way we can give back to the dedicated officers who protect and serve us.”
Durham has donated CDL training to the Memphis Police Department since 2013. During the training, officers are provided behind-the-wheel training for two weeks, which includes pre-trip inspections, basic control and driving skills.
“We appreciate Durham’s partnership and their commitment to providing quality CDL training for our officers,” said Deputy Chief Michael Hardy for Memphis Police Department. “The team does an outstanding job. Our officers earn a new skill set and the community is safer for it.”
“Durham’s safety and training supervisors are essential to the training”, said Newman.
“Safety is our top priority, from getting our students safely to and from school to providing training to our local officers to make the community safer.”
