Thank you for taking an interest in becoming a professional school bus driver. You are embarking on a career path which we hope you will find as rewarding as we do here at Stock. The safety and well being of many children rely on your experience and training as a driver and caring approach as a role model. The following will help you through the application and interview process on your journey to becoming a professional school bus driver.
What you need to know to apply:
- You will need to meet the age and experience requirements established by the regulatory bodies in your area;
- You will need to provide a current drivers abstract with your completed application form;
- You will need to meet the medical requirements for a school bus license (i.e., heart disease, nervous system, eyesight, hearing and other disorders which may interfere with the operation of a school bus would affect eligibility);
- Typical hours of work could be between 7:00am - 9:30am and 2:00pm - 5:00pm with the possibility of noon and extra work in between the AM and PM runs;
What you need to know if called for an interview:
- Bring yourself; relaxed and prepared for a 1 hour + interview;
- Bring any other relevant paperwork (i.e., safety certificates, training records, etc).;
- Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your scheduled interview;
- Please bring your original driver’s abstract to the interview.
What you need to know if you are successful in being called for training:
- You will need to obtain and bring a current medical from your physician (A special form is required);
- A current Criminal Record check will be required;
- Please come dressed casually and appropriately as you will be learning and practicing your new skills inside and outside of the bus;
- Your training will consist of 7 to 10 training sessions by our own trainers;
- Trainees are not paid until they pass their road test and begin driving unsupervised ;
